  • Lakeside Darkroom is located at Thamesmead, London, on the shores of Southmere Lake. Lakeside Centre, Bazalgette Way, London, SE2 9AN. The nearest station is Abbey Wood station or via buses: 117, 180, 229, 401, 472, 601, 602, 669, N1.

  • The darkroom is wheelchair accessible.

  • There are food and drink options available at the Thamesmead Social coffee shop which is located onsite and TACO! which is located across the Southmere lake just before walking to the darkroom.

  • By clicking here you will be directed to the ‘Become a Member’ page where you can select which type of membership is suitable for your needs whether that be a one time membership or yearly.

    Memberships automatically renew.

  • Safelight sessions are a bespoke alternative to group workshops, guided by Naroa herself. They are to provide 1:1 support in any photographic technique of your choice ranging from film processing, colour / black and white printing in the darkroom to guidance on cameras including 35mm and medium format.


  • Lakeside darkroom understands the complexities and schedules of freelancers and photo practitioners in general and we do our best to accommodate dates and times, even with safelight sessions we tailor workshops to suit each individual. That's why our resources are also tight.

    We cannot refund any bookings.

    We can reschedule. You have a whole month to reschedule.

    We cannot reschedule If the cancellation is made on the day of the workshop or the booking of an enlarger.
