MEET the INTERns
4th Internship From October to December 2024
MUSINGS EXHIBITION ON THE 21st of DECEMBER
Niamh Abraham
Neve is a visual artist and photographer. She photographs products and events, and creates colourful, elaborate portraits. Currently, she is using analogue photography to explore the theme of textures.
"The internship helped me refresh my Darkroom skills, and become more confident using analogue equipment. I have also learnt new skills, and have been able to experiment with new processes - like liquid emulsion and plant developer.
Being part of the internship has also helped me develop my art; events like Photobites have allowed me to network and get feedback that has improved my work."
Tera Pechmannova
Tera Pechmannova is a London-based Czech documentarian who loves to collect stories from her travels and transform them into captivating time-lapse documentaries.
With a passion for analogue photography, she recently began crafting her own positive and negative developers using locally sourced ingredients from the locations she visits.
Tera is always on the lookout for everyday stories that showcase the hidden heroism in our daily lives.
Varvara Zuravleva
Varvara is a visual artist and photographer working primarily with analogue processes. Through photographic practice she reflects on notions of land and belonging.
She is interested in unraveling inner mechanisms of the human memory and sentiment, using the darkroom as a space to translate one language into another. The motive of journey and metamorphosis often appears in her work.
“The internship has been a great opportunity for me to experiment and develop my practice while having support from Naroa. I was able to learn both the technicalities of the darkroom and deepen my understanding of what I am interested in. Having complete artistic freedom and access to great facilities has inspired me to develop my personal project in a new way.”
